Many people are alienated in our local communities, in New York, and in the United States. Alienation restricts people from fully participating in the political, economic, and social decisions that affect their lives. The inability to engage as co-owners of our society has exacerbated social and economic inequality and abated innovative ideas to solve New York’s problems. Voters need an independent alternative that can provide a more transparent, accountable, and participatory society for all.

The Green Party Of New York is working to regain ballot status in 2022 to be that independent alternative. We will be running candidates for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and Comptroller as well as candidates for the state legislature and congress. Our candidates will run on issues such as 100% renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, worker cooperatives, basic income, a public employment program, a stock transfer tax, a carbon tax, ranked choice voting, a state bank, universal healthcare, and peace.

The Green Party Of New York needs to build this vital movement through the coordination of candidates, volunteers, and voters. If you believe in the ideas promoted by the Green Party and our work toward a more direct democratic society, please consider joining us. If you are an organizer or activist in social justice movements and know someone who would be a great candidate for the Green Party, contact us today to talk more about it at www.candidates@gpny.org. If you are not ready to run, our candidates need your skills, time, and support. Sign up as a volunteer at https://www.gpny.org/volunteer. We look forward to working with you. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Good luck but I dont see it being a influence for years to come if at all

The Green Party in the United States has been around since the late 1980's, and it looks like we are one of the longest lasting third parties. It has obviously been a struggle with the corporate funding of the two major parties and the winning by plurality system we have in this country. We do well in local elections, and we feel our presence as an independent alternative puts pressure to slowly adopt our ideas. The original post addresses alienated voters because we also feel that they have two choices, either become part of a movement to expand democratic participation and empowerment or be seduced by fascist ideas that scapegoat marginalized people. The Green Party wants to offer the better option for an inclusive, participatory, and cooperative future and that is why we think regaining ballot status in New York is so important.

Im not implying its a bad party , to be honest I dont know a lot about it but have heard of it.However the main problem for other then demo and reps is getting corporate America to fund them.

The Green Party has found that corporate money is one of the major problems in the two party system, and one of the reasons why we see only superficial change. That is why Green candidates never take corporate money.

Green candidates never take corporate money.
Maybe they should. Most corporates nowadays have ESG programmes thus espousing green credentials ergo accepting a green political sponsorship can only strengthen their movement. Standing on the sidelines flashing pictures of dead icebergs and reciting old Greta Thunberg speeches isn't an option nowadays. There's only so much that greens can do to play on school run mums middle class angst, if they want to be taken seriously then take a leaf out of the animal rights people and go for the jugular.

Show me the money...take the money....

The problem with getting corporations involved is that there are strings attached. We as a party would find it very difficult to advocate for systemic change when it conflicts with the corporate bottom line. Our experience has been that the corporate mediation of environmentalism has turned it to passive green consumerism and greenwashing.
