Read the old science Roker. What they were saying was that we were going into a new ice age. There was no fear back then of melting ice caps, there was fear of expanding ice caps.
Are you arguing that money doesn't influence people and that a great deal of money can't influence people a great deal, especially when they have never had what would be called a high earning capacity before?
And no, you can't turn the tale on the scientists that I refer to because they don't depend on grant money.
And no I am not denying it. As I said, the earth has been warming for a very long time. The glaciers have melted back from most of the northern hemisphere and they are going to continue to melt. What I find laughable is the fact that the glaciers melted back from texas, back from damned near the whole of the US before we ever got a good grasp of how to start a fire, and now that the process is almost finished and there is just a bit of ice left at the poles, you would believe that somehow we are responsible for the melting.
And if you believe the science and not the man, then you need some scientific education because good old al isn't promoting science, he is promoting pseudoscience.
Debunked is debunked. If you believe what was presented in his movie, you are placing your faith in material that was debunked thoroughly before the box office ever opened.
He collected a very limited set of data and completely dismissed the data that proves that his position is unsustainable. He comitted a lie of omission in an effort to make a political point. And whether or not he is running for office is irrelavent to whether or not his views are supported by science.
Sorry guy, but the midieval warm period was both warmer than it is today, but CO2 ice core data shows that it warmed up faster than our present warm period, and lasted considerably longer than the warm period we are experiencing.
The thing is that we are still coming out of an ice age. There is no reason to believe that the transition from cold earth to warm earth is supposed to be a smooth transition.
So you believe that the warmth we are experiencing today is melting the ice, but the warmth that they experienced during the medieval warm period didn't? During the medieval warm period they were growing wheat and grapes in areas that are covered with ice most of the year now.
We are exiting an ice age and have been for at least 15,000 years. What exactly is it about this fact that scares you?
