You obviously havent been to Alcatraz recently have you? Firstly, they closed it back in the 60s because it was to expensive to operate.

For someone who is all twisted about money being wasted, it appears you need to do some homework. It is now basically a park.


If you want a location, there is a struggling community known as Adak, Alaska

It is the most western city in America and home to a now closed naval base. It was originally considered to house those presently at Gitmo, but decided against because it was on American soil and would have subjected the detainees to the US Constitution.


Either way, many of the facilities necessary to have a supermax prison are already in place. People could certainly use the jobs, and Adak is in the middle of nowhere. Much closer to Russia than it is to Wasilla. Hell it is closer to Tokyo than it is to Seattle. Its the little red dot way out in the Aleutians.
