So lets see the hands of those on who side you would take? I'm sure some of you would put the gang bangers in prison camps while others including myself want to see the militias put in prison camps. Being a former gang banger I will always take the side of the streets before I pledge allegiance to some right wing extremist group that wants to put my family in gas chambers for not being in the right frame of mind according to them. So lets see who you people side with.

Capitalist or Communist, Individualist or Collectivist, Gangbanger or Militia? What's with these us/them divisions? Is the whole world being divided into us or them, do we all have to take sides in each division? Or what? I don't want to get shot by Militia folks or Gang folks, I think it's ridiculous to try to make people decide things like that when each person's experiences will have been very different. What's the point in your thread?

You obviously know nothing about the various State militias. They have the right to exist as provided for in the Constitution. I have been to one of their meetings and have read about their stand on issues and stated purpose on the INTERNET. No where did they advocate putting anyones family in gas chambers. So, if you can prove that it is on their agenda, please feel free to post the link here.

You obviously know nothing about the various State militias. They have the right to exist as provided for in the Constitution. I have been to one of their meetings and have read about their stand on issues and stated purpose on the INTERNET. No where did they advocate putting anyones family in gas chambers. So, if you can prove that it is on their agenda, please feel free to post the link here.

You obviously didn't get the sarcasm and the way that simple words can bring about the obvious. I caught your attention by putting out there the Rumors that are circulating on the internet. Your militia movement and the fact that these gangs are doing what they are doing only fuels to your organizations true agenda. The only proof I will provide you is this. Your not for everyone so you can quit with the Bull**** on that. Second Militias are no DIFFERENT then the gang bangers who linger and terrorize the inner cities. By the way what is your plan for these gangs in the inner city? do you want to work with them when you guys claim the government is coming to get you or do you want to destroy them and burn down the neighborhoods they thrive in including the residents who live their? I don't care if I offended you because Militias are no different then the gang bangers in my opinion. Both your groups want to take down this country because your not happy with our electoral process. Both your groups want to destroy the government which by the way are the PEOPLE. So you know what, I sleep comfortable at night knowing that the ATF, FBI, and various other law enforcement agencies are keeping an eye on you guys. If there is a reason to keep Gitmo open its not to just house international terrorist but also domestic ones too and that includes militias. Your good ole boys can share a cell with the homies for all I care down in CUBA. I approve of water boarding Militia members and gang bangers.

The mania for either/or thinking in this country is tearing it apart. Gay or straight is a good example, there are more bisexual people than anyone suspects--maybe most of us--so making them either/or is ridiculous. Blonde or brunette is the same, all it takes is a bottle of dye and your definition is shot to Hell. Even a long summer in the sun can change a brunette into a blonde. Religious? How do you define it? Can a person be spiritual but non-religious?

All these false dichotomies simply distract us from the truly ugly fact that people in power are stealing us blind while we fight with each other over fictitious classifications like liberal or conservative. I disagree. My values and principles are important to me and worth fighting for. There are those whose ideologies support policies that violate individual rights and run counter to my principles and values. So its not "for no reason" that I oppose competing ideologies.

But can you identify the ideology, or ideologies, that your positions are based on?

I found that they were a, "Prepare for and wait for a major disaster and offer assistance, and be a resource at the disposal of existing authority...", orgainization. They adamantly stated that their purpose was not to oppose the federal government but to be subservient to it (Michigan Militia, Jackson MI). I found them to be rather benign. Now, if you have some evidence that they are planning some attack on the government, please feel free to post it in the "Conspiracy Theory", area of this forum.

You still don't get the point of the whole entire thread do you. You and everyone e else who posted an opinion about this are proving my point exactly. Simple words and a simple thread can stir up so much raw emotion that I made this thread as an experiment on what people will buy into as far as anything. I added to it and got the reaction that I wanted. This whole mess with our politics and with each other has gotten to the point where we can't even have a decent conversation with each other without trying to insult one another or soon enough kill each other over our points of view. This country is toast and I blame the American people for the hate and anger out there. Seriously this country has got some issues with itself and as always we hide behind the constitution for everything we do and use it to justify our actions. It's rather pathetic. I can honestly say that as much **** as I talk and I am guilty for stirring up the pot myself. It's freaking scary out there and I'll tell you one other thing. If this country collapses it won't be by at the hands of terrorists. Instead it will be at the hands of the American people and in the end we have only to blame ourselves if this country fails. I don't blame Obama, Bush, Clinton etc etc. No instead I blame all of us and me included for failing to do enough to stop what is coming. If we have another civil war in this country which in my opinion already set in stone then god helps whomever wins because when the Chinese come to collect there money owed to them someone is going to have to pay that bill and I'd hate to be the one to tell them we don't have their money.

One can hold dear one's values without demonizing others who may not share them. You can live your ideals without trying to force others to bend to your will.

The idea that other ideologies are competing may not in fact be true. It may very well be that the goals are the same but the way to achieve them is what's in contention. Starting fights is no way to find peace.
