They certainly can put a substantial dent in our reliance on dirty energy sources. And there is no reason why we can't continue working to make them even more efficient so we use even less fossil fuels. But let me ask you a question. Do you want to see this country reduce it's dependence on foreign oil? If so, how are we going to do this without increasing our usage of alternative energy sources and becoming more energy efficient. Because simply drilling more wells is not going to do it. We do not have the reserves to pull it off, nor can we afford any more BP disasters.
