1. China should resolutely resist “erosive” political Western influences such as multi-party elections and an independent judiciary and “tell the story of China’s democracy” well, the chairman of the country’s top legislative body said on Saturday.
“We need to learn from the beneficial achievements of foreign political civilisations, but we must not abandon the fundamentals of China’s political system,” Li Zhanshu, chairman of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee, said during a parliamentary meeting in Beijing.
“We should resolutely oppose, resist and prevent the erosive influence of so-called ‘constitutionalism’, multi-party elections, the tripartite system, the bicameral system and the independence of the judiciary in the West,” said Li, the number three in the Communist Party’s hierarchy......
Analysts said that this is the first time a senior leader has used the phrase “telling the story of China’s democracy”, showing China’s confidence in the intensifying ideological confrontation with the United States.....
Xie Maosong, a political scientist at the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said top leaders had made similar remarks in the past, such as referring to “the story of Chinese-style democracy”.....
“It is not a fake democracy where Western politicians make high-profile promises during election campaigns and then don’t deliver afterward. China is now confident that its democracy is real compared to the fake democracy of the West,” Xie said.

2. The much-anticipated US-Sino virtual summit on Monday evening is more likely to be successful if two like-minded leaders come together to embrace democracy. If the Chinese leader is humble enough to express his desire to learn democracy like an obedient pupil from the "beacon of global democracy", it will be all's well that ends well.
However, if the Chinese leader claims that "Chinese democracy" is more superior than the fake democracy of the US and other Western countries, the two-faced White House incumbent will probably protest at once by "bombing" his counterpart with thunderous shots of gas emissions.
If the Chinese leader dares to counter his counterpart's alleged genocide of Uyghurs with the historicity of the genocide of Red Indians by white supremacists, the two-faced White House incumbent could fly into a rage. "How dare you to slander the beacon of global democracy!" he exclaimed. "Now I am going to show you how to end you up like Sitting Bull and your people like Red Indians!" Drawing his gun, he would probably fire at the giant screen in front of him. Shocked by the surreal experience, his counterpart could be jolted out of his seat and through the roof.
