Canadians use electricity to produce aluminum and steel at a far lower cost that US steel and aluminum industries. And of course, hydroelectric power does not damage the environment, as the land flooded by Canadian hydroelectric projects are not agriculturally productive, and not near population centers.

Canada's dairy industry consists of a lot of small farms, which have higher costs than US dairies due to the climate and smaller facilities. When the US has a surplus of milk, it would like to dump it at a lower price in Canada. But that would bankrupt Canada's dairy industry.
