I agree that it depends. But what clearly is a lie is Trumps claim that China pays for them. It is universally accepted that the immediate effect of tariffs is that American consumers will pay them. And to think that Trump and his sycophants complained about cost of goods and cost of living under Biden. Trump is a con man.

tariff do a lot they can be used to protect America business from commie and socialist nations flooding us with cheap goods .They also can encourage company's to start up here.

Its funny how when biden issues such huge tariffs liberal are ok with it by trump adding 10 percent on is a sin to them.

yes, "can be."

i am no economist and am weak on the subject but it is my understanding that targeted tariffs do that and blanket tariffs basically are a tax on your own people.
