You don't have to drink because its legal, and drink doesn't MAKE you do stupid stuff. Making alcohol illegal would not cut out all of this either, because people would turn to other substances or just continue to drink alcohol. And chugging on moonshine is not safe.An appeal to my emotion again. One story is not a good reason to make such a sweeping change.Just because they are legal doesn't mean everyone will take them, but it will stop the crime and danger that comes from them being illegal.
