This is the difference between Americans and Europeans. I am very found of your traditions and the way you meet things directly without pushing all your problems under the carpet. We share the same values, but our ways of practicing them and protecting them, they're so different!

I was in the UK back in 2001 (just before 9/11) and the Brits I met were horrified that I was a gun owner and supporter of Capitalism... Needless to say, I know how you feel!

Haha, come to Britain and you'll be shocked, I'm all alone in this country with my opinions.
