Fox News is a virus. It is ALL OVER the South! It comes FREE with basic cable or Direct TV, and any public place (doctor's office, hospital, some merchants) have that horrible propaganda spewed at them 24/7!

No wonder the South is still stuck in the middle of last century!

One network that is not overwhelmingly liberal in its programming, and you find it HORRIBLE. Just another example among many where the left is incapable of allowing any dissenting views.

Is it because you are so much smarter than anyone on the right?

I belive I just finished reading a post of yours in another thread in which you hailed the notion that people ought to look at opposing viewpoints from their own.

If you don't like Fox...simply turn it off. If you don't like your Dentist shows it in the waiting room -- find a new dentist, I imagine there are plenty where you live.

Actually, the point that was being made is that people in the SOUTH do not have much opportunity to escape Fox News. Just about a year ago, I was doing volunteer work in a new cancer center in the local hospital, and there were televisions in every waiting rooms, and in every hall ways. But they were ALL tuned in to Fox News! I almost barfed when one of the other volunteer said "good, we must make sure the TV channel cannot be changed by the patients, so they won't be brainwashed by CNN!

    Sick!

In the employment agency of that hospital, there was also a small TV in the waiting room, with a SIGN on it saying "please do not change the channel!" Obviously, the channel was on Fox News! And the employees have NO CHOICE but to work with that crap in the background 8 hours a day!

And, obviously, I always tell the receptionists at every doctor's office how distasteful it is to be forced to watch Faux News every time I go there. . .and I say it loud enough so that if any other patient is in the waiting room, they can hear me. Sometime, depending on the reaction of the other patients, I even asked to turn off the TV rather than listening to it! A couple of times, people have thanked me for that. . .but usually, they are so brainwashed that they are only pleased if the channel is changed to a game show. . .which is an improvement over Fox News any day, anyway!

How would you respond if MSNBC was on and someone came in loudly complaining and demanding it be turned off? I think you will agree that I am pretty Republican, and I don't have an problem watching MSNBC if someone wants to watch it.

Actually, in a public place, I usually defer to other people, as I make sure I always have my IPad with me and I can read or play games, even if I don't have a wifi connection.
And. . .I must say that this has NEVER happened to me! Oh, and then again. . .when I go to my community health club to walk on the thread mill, there are three TV's for 5 thread mills, and they usually are ALL on Fox News. If I am in front of a TV, I will change that TV to CNN (never MSNBC, since I only watch it two or three times a week at night. . .usually Rachel Maddow). If my thread mill is NOT directly in front of a TV, I wait until the person goes, and then I turn it to CNN.

By the way, what gives you the idea that I have EVER "come in loudly complaining and demanding the TV be turned off?" I have asked, gently and politely, if it would be possible to turn off the TV or to put it on another channel. . .if I am the only one waiting, or if the people around me are not watching.

I know my comments may be expressed in a very "strong" manner, but I am NOT a pushy person. Remember, I am a social worker. . .I know how to behave to get the most out of people with whom I communicate directly.

In my view (which appears to more or less mirror yours), I don't much care what is on TV, and can easily tune it out if I don't like what is on. But I don't have a problem with people watching whatever it is they want to watch.

As for the "loudly demanding the TV to be turned off", that was perhaps a bad image, and was not meant to reflect how you personally act in public.

Comes free for me, since I purposely told my carrier that I wanted the basic package and didn't want to pay for the likes of Fox News. . . And it is still an option on my menu!

In addition, local stations are fox news.

Based on your posts, I can totally believe that you would feel perfectly comfortable with the mentality of the South!

And, also based on your posts, I don't believe that you have much skill in assessing other people's character or spirituality,
    .

So. . .no problem here! LOL

Correct. And you may care for it, but it doesn't make it accurate!

if i am correct why did you state thst he was incapable rather than noticing a difference of opinion ?

that sounds like a personal attack more than opinion.

    As usual, you are INCORRECT.

    What I stated is this:

Where, in that statement, do you see "INCAPABLE" or any firm statement in any form?
I started the statement by stating "based on your posts," which was already a qualification.
And I continued by stating: "I don't believe," which is obviously the statement of an OPINION
And I ended the statement by saying not "much skills," is is quite different from saying "NO skills" or INCAPABLE of assessing other people's character or spirituality.

Once again, you are putting words in my mouth that have NEVER been there.
I am starting to wonder if this is just an indication of your inability to read for comprehension or just a determined effort to misconstrue what I am saying in an effort to provoke a reaction that would allow you to ban me.

Either way, you are failing miserably. . .and making a fool of yourself in the process.

First word in your post is "correct". you may want to chose your words more carefully.

It seems that the first word in my post "correct" was referring to one of your PREVIOUS POST,

not the one you are currently referring to, where you make another outlandish and bad faith assertion that has NOTHING to do with "reality!"

You may want to keep the posts straight, and stop harassing me! Another habit that is unbecoming to a "souper moderator!" ;)

Funny how you make those "loaded comments" that mean absolutely nothing! If you have anything to complain about, of if I made a mistake in calling your bluff. . .show me. Otherwise, shut up and stop harassing me!

It won't work, doggie! You have been harassing me, and becoming increasingly desperate to bait me for days now. . .and it is not working dear.

Get over it. . .act with as much integrity as PLC, and as much decorum as BigRob, and I'll take you seriously. But trying to troll in the same forum where you are "trying" to moderate is too far fetched to work!

Get a life, doggie. . .I'm sure there is room enough here for both of us! Stop trying to find wrong with everything I say, stop to try to bait me, stop your attempts at spinning my words and attributing misleading interpretations to my straight forward comments, and we can get along.

In the mean time, I am here to stay, with my own opinions, my own links (which, by the way, you would provide some factual links once in awhile. . .that would actually increase your credibility!). IF I leave (probably from time to time, when I get bored), it will be because I CHOOSE to leave. . .not because of your attempts to push me out.

    See you again soon!
