What possible need can this act have fulfilled?

Indeed how could God have needs?

And before you rush in with the platitudes of sharing his love...why would he need or want to do that?

The idea that God as represented by religion could have wants/needs of this nature is utterly ridiculous

Especially as the act involves so much suffering on the part of the people he created just so that he could get some worship

If theres a god,, Then this is the biggest mistakes he ever did. Theres a old australian TV show Primval. The final episode the woman did time travel and tried to poison all the apes. Her reasons were simple because of man. She said that way man would never evolve. Just imagine if this was a peaceful world, No fighting,No politics No war.Just a peaceful world.

Exactly

The idea of god is ridiculous but even by christian standards of proof (ie none) the idea of a loving all powerful god needing or wanting to create the mess he did so that he could get worshipped is preposterous

Come on Christians, have a stab at what possible need or desire the creation of the universe could have fulfilled for Mr god

Or is that you realise that the only answer is that if god had any need or desire he is not god

One of the many ludicrous notions that the inventors of Christianity either hadn't considered or they did consider but relied on brutal enforcement to make sure people didn't ask too many questions
