Tea Party people are more like John F. Kennedy ...And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country.

Occupy is more like Janet Jackson ... What Have You Done For Me Lately!

It is also the difference between liberalism and conservatism.

The funny thing is, some liberals think we are crazy and evil to disagree with getting free stuff...their incapable of reason.

have to disagree
Kennedy was clever as the first half of that hooks you but that 2nd half implies an obligation to the federal government while the federal government should be seen as necessary to perform tasks of central concern to all the states (treaties, national security etc.). Have to remember that while JFK was miles from being what passes for a democrat today he was a democrat. This is a simple feelgood message that encapsulated marxism and the people ate it up.

I can not say for sure what he meant with the (ask what you can do for your country) part. But I have always pictured it meaning join the military, coast guard or something like that. I think we should all give back to the country in one of those ways. But he could have meant something else, something more marxist or socialist, I had not really thought of it that way
