An Illinois gubernatorial candidate's name reportedly is misspelled as "Whitey" on the touch-screen voting machines in a number of wards with a majority of black voters.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported that Rich Whitney, the Green Party candidate, is contemplating legal action after election officials said there's nothing they can do about the misspelling before Election Day.

"Whitey" turned up in 23 wards. The name shows up correctly on the initial screen but not on the screen that allows voters to review their choices.

Lol. What difference does it make? Everyone knows that blacks can't be racist.... It's "cultural pride" in the African American community. Surely no voter is going to be swayed because of someone being called a "name". Lol again.

Man, you are something else. Actually, I just think that people in general are funny, pathetic and selfish. Is that funny? not particularly. Is it anything new? Not particularly. Human nature is something that laws and government programs can't change. It's just the way it is.

BTW: I also think that it's kinda funny that Jerry Brown called Whitman a "whore". This entire political arena is such a circus that it's unbelievable. If I didn't try to find some humor in all of it, you really wouldn't like my other reaction.

It appears to me, perhaps, that while I was actually experiencing the civil rights movement, lived through Viet Nam, worked as a Personnel Manager during the wonderful affirmative action days, in California no less, where it took an act of God to fire someone who wasn't at all qualified for a job, but I had to hire anyway, etc. etc., you may have been...well..non existent.

Here's another tidbit for ya', for someone who grew up in California during the 60's, experienced much that those times had to offer, I am one of the more conservative people on this board. I left California 12 years ago because I prefer deer in my front yard, and not gangbangers. And no, that wasn't a problem when I was a kid.....

What the hell guarantees do you feel entitled to? There are risks with everything, I have lost and gained over and over again. BTW: Dividends: money earned on a principle that just might allow one to never touch the principle regardless of taxes, notwithstanding some catastrophic situation. It's all still good. Smart investing is essential to gaining self reliance in this world.
