Twelve U.S. soldiers from Fort Lewis, Wash., will soon be facing court martial proceedings related to the alleged murder of three Afghan civilians earlier this year. Five of these soldiers are being charged with murder, while the remaining face charges of obstructing the investigation.
What makes these alleged crimes more sordid is that they were apparently being conducted by a platoon that had essentially gone rogue, not only while deployed to a firebase in Kandahar Province in southern Afghanistan, but even before leaving Fort Lewis, according to AFP. Interviews with some of the platoon members revealed that rampant marijuana use was reportedly widespread in the barracks in Washington and at the deployed location.
These crimes, if true, are atrocious enough on their own. That U.S. military personnel would be responsible for the murder of innocent civilians is despicable enough. But the reverberations of such crimes won't stop with a court martial. These actions undermine the work that thousands of military personnel have fought and sacrificed for nine years. Anyone involved in ground operations will tell you fighting and killing the enemy in this war is only a part of the conflict. A great deal of time, money and blood has been spent trying to win the support of the Afghan people, particularly in Kandahar Province. As news of these allegations spreads through the country, any goodwill is likely to evaporate. In effect, the actions of this one platoon could cripple the work of an entire military.

What does it have to do with Israel? Well when the Jews shoot and killed an Innocent Palestinian boy and they didnt face court martial. It prooves the Jews can do anything they want and not accept the responsibilty actions they do.
