It may be so in Australia but here in the US the Democrats are the party of the Working man, the poor and the Middle Class, and the Conservatives ( Republicans now answer to the Conservatives wing of the party) now represent the wealthy.
President Elisenhower ( a Republican) warned after he left office, the dangers of the Military-Industrial complex which the Conservatives still support today.

Hogwash. There are more wealthy elites in the Democrat party. What makes everyone think that Republicans are not blue collar and middle class? Because they believe the bull-pucky the left feeds them.

A strong work ethic, self reliance, a belief in God and in the constitution is what makes you a conservative today.

The republicans and democrats have drifted far enough to the left that John Kennedy looks pretty good as a candidate for the Republican party and Castro for the democrat party

JFK is far more conservative than the average GOP elected official. the left began it's slide to the left with LBJ a proud supporter of the MIC himself.

I see that and you see that but apparently they are too frickin stupid to see that. All I hear is how far to the right the republicans have gone when the truth is we have gone so frickin far to the left that JFK looks so conservative right now Id love a president like him if we ever could get an R's out there to act at least as conservative as the democrat president from the 60s

Exactly, Goldwater lost to LBJ with the false fear mongering from the D's saying that Goldwater supported the MIC. Of course the Vietnam war was under Johnson, a democrat.

Today you see the same false fear mongering from the D's claiming Romney will get us into a war. It was BS in 1964 and it's BS in 2012.

A strong military policy promotes peace as evidenced by Reagan's policies. A week military policy promotes disaster as evidenced by Carter and Obama.

So dems are the party of the working man etc ?hows it been working out for them under dem control ?

Poverty is up, wages are down, food stamp use skyrocketed and Wall Street is flush with cash and times have never been better for the elites of the glitteratti.

This is the real legacy of the Democrats.

And the lunacy of it's followers!

Look at Detroit, hows that Dem TLC working out for them ?

Its been heartbreaking to see what the Democrat's handiwork has done to the black community. Once proud and strong its in tatters now from the insidious policies of the DNC.

And, now the socialist democrat party seeks to do that same "handiwork" on the rest of the nation, making the entire Country government dependent sheeples incapable of thinking for themselves.

you mean like NoLA, NJ and NYC ? nothing so hopeless as trusting your life to the government.

A link to what?

To this statement: "There are more wealthy elites in the Democrat party."

The Republican party has a lot more elites, and, at the other end of the spectrum, a lot more "red necks."
That's the way it works. . .the elite brainwashes the barely thinking and establish their own "zombies" basis (with the help of Fox News and Limbaugh, of course!)
