According to the New York Times, the last time there was this many homeless children in New York City was during the days of the Great Depression. And the number of homeless children in the United States overall recently set a new all-time record. As I mentioned yesterday, there are now 1.2 million public school kids in America that are homeless, and that number has gone up by about 72 percent since the start of the last recession.

Welcome to Obama's Amerika .....

Yet if you ask all the Leftist wacko's they will say we are in a recovery. Once again reality proves the MSM to be an all and out lying propaganda machine for the Obama Regime!

Katsung74 , I tried to respond to your post elsewhere. If your facts are correct than this reveals a problem with American economic policy not just one President. This has not happen in many countries led by leftist governments like Australia.

There is no denying the American economy has tanked in the last 4 years under the policies of the current regime.

The cause of this collapse are the results of the radical leftist policies of this current president and no other.

And, you do realize that leftist communist policies are responsible for more murder, repression, and poverty of human beings across the globe during the 20th century than in any other time in recorded history, right Aus?

Of course you do and Obama's policies are no different.

The problems with the economy are indeed to blame. And it is true that is is not just one President. It would also be true that congress, and both political parties as well as the systemic problems that our leaders have embraced share the blame. Still it does seem that most of the blame should go to obama first then bush and lastly to the others.

This problem lies soley with the Church.. and it really pisses me off.. we are not doing enough! Government should not be our care-taker.. Ever!

"Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master." - George Washington

Americans use to know that statement and accept it as fact. Sadly, not so much today.

With the inauguration of Mayor De Blasio by the impeached Bill Clinton, New York City will get a full dose of Marxism.

De Blasio is a full blown Marxist ... you can expect the homeless rate of children to increase. Within a couple of years New York City will look like 1930's Weimar Germany.

The immorality of our society and the destruction of the family is what has caused this.

When 75% of children of some groups are born without their fathers in the home, poverty follows.

There are many different reasons for the dismal state of affairs described in the OP, but you've just put your finger on the main one.

There is no substitute for the family.

Although there is certainly truth in what you are saying about the family and this has clearly been on the rise since the mid 60's.

But, what this OP is touching on and the cause for this recent increase are based in economics and not so much social problems.

The current regime is intentionally killing American jobs and the results are more than obvious as well as terrifying.

As I stated above, these type of stories will continue to increase under our current regime as well as all the social issues that comes with a Country suffering from extreme unemployment rates and poverty.

Im not so sure that bad economic policy and dismal family values are not inextricably entwined.

While I will agree that bad economic policy and dismal family values are sometimes inextricably entwined, I will still maintain that is not exactly what is happening here.

Communism is responsible for more murder, human suffering, and poverty throughout the 20th century than in any other time in recorded history.

Member of De Blasio’s Transition Team Receives Award From Communist Group That Aims to ‘Popularize the Ideas of Marxism’

A member of Democratic New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s transition team received an award from a communist group in December, according to the organization’s website.

Zakiyah Ansari, advocacy director for Alliance for Quality Education, was given an award by People’s World on Dec. 8 at the group’s “Better World Awards.”
