Public Schools - Indoctrination Centers

Standards being the operative word here. there is more than one way to satisfy the standard.

I think we are talking about apples and oranges.

From my perspective, I don't think you get it. This isn't standards like what you and I and our kids had. This is new. It is just now being implemented.

Well, I have read parts of several of the standards and they are exactly what one would think standards are. It is new in the sense that it is not old but it is very much like what standards have always been. And as to it just being implemented, this is where the common core stops and the agenda driven organizations selling content begin. Of course the same idiots who love using porn to teach preschoolers about sex will seek to further their crap and its also where communities can insure a better way. If you want to find a real angle of bs in it, its a pretty good way to make school systems buy what they used to make themselves. And at a handsome profit for friends of polititians. And unions of course as when school systems go loking for money for this stuff they will try to scam mkre for the NEA while they're at it.

Well you can be sure lobbyists are already involved in common core. Forget for a minute the so called "standards" and "teaching to the test", maybe they are great, maybe they aren't, only time will tell.

This is where I go against this program.

First and foremost....IT'S AGAINST THE LAW for the Federal government to dictate to states what and how they teach their kids.

I see this as a Trojan horse. It's a mechanism to get around the law by using the so called "Governors Conference" or what ever the hell that horse was called to implement their policies into our kids curriculum. Think of it as Obamacare. "You have to pass it to find out what's in it." And just like Obamacare, it will be like peeling an onion.

Another thing is the data collection. Everything about your child from k-college will be transmitted to the Dept of Education in DC and stored.....guess where? Utah. And this isn't just about the child's grades, personal information including physical and mental health, family, and who knows what else. These records are interstate too. If you move from one state to another, your child's records will be able to be accessed by that new state.

The Fed's will have access to every school you child ever attended, they will know their test scores and their problems, they will know if you went to private school or if you were home schooled.

There is more I don't like about it, but hopefully you get the gist of it's unpopularity. And not just with some parents, but educators and board members too.

Certainly the feds have no need of individual kid informstion but that is a seperate issue, much the same as the vsdt overreach of NDA etal. Im curious which law is being violated. Not doubting just never heard of it. As the states had to volunteer im not sure of its applicability. Sure the feds use their standard carrot ($) as they always do but thsts not the same as gun2head.

Pro-Life Math Teacher Fired After His Vocal Opposition to Planned Parenthood

A high school teacher is accusing the Portland, Ore. public school system of firing him because of his anti-abortion views.

Bill Diss, formerly a math educator at Benson High School, was placed on administrative leave in March. This week, the school board voted 6-1 to dismiss him, The Oregonian reported.

Diss, a Roman Catholic, first found himself in hot water in September 2012 after he reportedly refused to allow employees from Planned Parenthood come into his classroom and speak to students.

Clearly Indoctrination

Some Parents Upset After L.I. School Removes Religious References From ‘Silent Night’

KINGS PARK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – The song “Silent Night” is at the heart of a concert controversy on Long Island.

Kings Park schools officials removed several religious references, including “Holy infant” and “Christ the Savior,” from the popular Christmas carol before a student concert last week, WCBS 880′s Mike Xirinachs reported.

The intent was not to offend non-Christians, but the change upset others.

Teacher Reportedly Seizes First-Grader’s Christmas Gift and Trashes Affixed Religious Story

A first-grade teacher in California told a student that “Jesus is not allowed in school” before removing a religious story the child affixed to candy canes in celebration of Christmas last month, a non-profit legal firm claims.

The incident reportedly unfolded on Dec. 13, when 6-year-old Isaiah Martinez brought gifts for his peers to Merced Elementary School in West Covina, Calif.

According to a press release distributed by Advocates for Faith & Freedom, the firm handling the case, “Each gift consisted of a traditional candy cane with a message attached that recited the legend of the candy cane. The legend references a candy maker who created the candy cane to symbolize the life of Jesus Christ.”

We've learned one thing from all this discussion. Progressive Democrats obviously believe that it's acceptable to enforce their definition of "right" and "wrong" on America's young people. Those same progressives are the first to tell us that conservative Americans have no right whatever to incorporate OUR concepts of "right' and "wrong". My reaction to such progressive hypocrisy is that what's good for the goose is good for the gander! Get involved in our schools, force out those dictatorial leftist teachers and administrators, allow no dissension whatever in our concept of "right' and "wrong", and take back our schools! Let's quit feeling guilty about demanding and enforcing our beliefs, for our adversaries have been forcing theirs down our throats for decades.

Education experts blast DOJ's apparent call for race-based system of punishment of schoolkids

“Schools ... violate Federal law when they evenhandedly implement facially neutral policies and practices that, although not adopted with the intent to discriminate, nonetheless have an unjustified effect of discriminating against students on the basis of race," read the letter.

"Examples of policies that can raise disparate impact concerns include policies that impose mandatory suspension, expulsion, or citation (e.g., ticketing or other fines or summonses) upon any student who commits a specified offense — such as being tardy to class, being in possession of a cellular phone, being found insubordinate, acting out, or not wearing the proper school uniform.”

There is little question that this racist regime wants to see more lenient rules and punishment for criminal black Americans, especially when it comes to crimes perpetrated against whites, whether it be the knock-out game, or something as simple as disrupting the class which most-likely will affect more white students than black.

College textbook paints Reagan as sexist, conservatives as pessimists

The authors of a textbook used at University of South Carolina earned an 'F' in Ronald Reagan 101, according to several conservative Gamecock students.

“Introduction to Social Work & Social Welfare: Critical Thinking Perspectives” portrays the 40th president as a sexist who was insensitive to minorities and whose main accomplishments were cutting taxes, jacking up defense spending and "slashing" social programs. The book states that conservatives like Reagan "take a pessimistic view of human nature.

I truly wonder just how much proof is needed to convince our liberal friends of the reality of what's going on with the education system in this Country.

INDOCTRINATION .... plain and simple!

The era of Obama has taught us one thing for certain. We've learned that ALL Democrat politicians today are either liars or enablers of surrogate liars! There is NO sense of decency nor honor among Democrat politicians. The extent of their treason, their race-baiting, their bigotry, and their lies know no bounds. Those voters who continue to listen to Democrat candidates, believing that their claims are sincere and well-intended are at the very least naive. The first step in saving our nation is to rid ourselves of the progressive Democrat party in its entirety. These Democrats are incapable of honest debate, incapable of civility, and will do anything to acquire and maintain power.

Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin used the term “polyezniy idiot” or “useful idiot” to describe sympathizers in the West who blindly supported Communist leaders.
