Well, since this is going on under Obama's watch, he or his cronies must be getting a pretty could kick-back to turn a blind eye. I say this without any proof, or even with any sense, since that is what passes for reason around here. LOL

But really, you make it sound like American companies are directly selling things to Iran, versus legitimately selling items that are then illicitly diverted after purchase. Our export procedures are meant to balance proliferation concerns with allowing our companies to be competitive in the global economy. See: Introduction to Commerce Department Export Controls

I'm shocked, truly shocked, that banned goods sometimes turn up in the black market. However, the story you linked to suggests that it's evil capitalists in Dubai and elsewhere who are profiting in this market, not necessarily US businessmen.
