"A heavily armed Taliban commander was killed Saturday during an pre-dawn shootout at a mosque in eastern Afghanistan, NATO said as it reported an American service member was killed in a separate attack.

A joint Afghan-international force went to a compound in Wardak province to look for an insurgent believed responsible for planning attacks and buying weapons and parts for making bombs, the international coalition said. When the joint force approached the compound, the Taliban commander, who was armed with grenades and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, ran to a nearby mosque.

Afghan security forces surrounded the mosque outside the town of Pirdad in the Nirkh district and called for him to surrender. When he didn't, they went inside.

Is it not amusing that those on the Right are in this spot. Obviously we are now dealing with things like THE TRUTH... NO TORTURE... TRIALS FOR PRISONERS... AN EXIT STRATEGY while at the same time we are still able to confront the bad guys... even kill a few pirates. Just drives 'em crazy to see things going this good!

In this holiday season I thank President Obama for doing a lot of good in such a short time span!

Now that plan for allowing the 'LOCAL MILITIA' to arm up and enter the Mosque's instead of sending in our troops {when the impact of CHRISTIANs firing weapons inside a foreign religious Mosque} makes the national news more easily swallowed and accepting to the easily irrational/highly volatile Muslim world that has established a JIHAD against all AMERICANS!

PURE GENIUS...yes indeed. Keeps the locals happy and our troops from creating a global Muslim reaction...wonder if they tried this in IRAQ...hmmm but then again you would need locals to take a stand and fight instead of abandoning their posts/positions and running away
