What do you think of Dr. Benjamin Carson?

Carson, while being an intelligent person, is also an opportunist, and one who lacks respect for tradition. The prayer breakfast was created for the purpose of praying for our leaders, not for announcing ones political ambitions. The idea that the Republicans are making some kind of hero out of him just shows how desperate they are.

"Traditionally" .... America is a Country of opportunity. It does not surprise normal thinking Americans that Dr. Carson is an opportunist. Do you think his success was handed to him? By the government? I know, I know he didn't build that, right?

Dr. Carson did not announce any political ambitions. He merely pointed out an intelligent alternative to Obama's destructive idiotic policies.

The idea that the Republicans are making some kind of hero out of him just shows how desperate they are.

Dr. Carson has nothing to do with the "Republicans", in fact, the Republicans are purging their own party of true Conservatives like Dr. Carson.

Your comment is typical of the low information type on the Left!

First off, just as a response from a "low information type" from the left, simply because one who disagrees with your simplistic, almost moronic, partisan talking points, does not make them one from the "left". In fact, if one was to do a deep study you are the kind that would think of the Founders as "socialistic" simply because of their egalitarian ideology.

Having said that, while we are a country of opportunity, or we were until the time the corporatists took control, and destroyed pretty much all of the opportunity one had, that does not make Carson anything but an opportunist. Maybe though one must define an opportunist for you. Then too, look it up. Ahh the hell with it. Opportunist is defined as one who practices opportunism, which is defined as "One who grasps at opportunities without regard for moral considerations, or according to principles" Short version form Websters.

Now, since you so steeped in Right wing rhetoric, Carson only created the small niche in which he could personally claim a success. He did not create the science he taught. He did not create the equipment, or the knowledge, he used to advance his career. In fact, I know of nothing of scientific advancement in his career, just his ability to perform what others have discovered.

Now for the prayer breakfast. The prayer breakfast was originated to give individuals the opportunity to actually pray for their leaders, and the country as a whole. I have no idea as to why Carson was invited, however, it is obvious that he sought to take advantage of the situation. How else would he be able to mouth his rant with the President, and a bunch of right wing jackals present to make national his rant? However, the prayer breakfast was not established for that purpose, and his using it for his own personal gain, no matter how correct his rant was (it was not a prayer), he belittled those who organized the event, and its purpose.

Dr. Carson did not announce any political ambitions. He merely pointed out an intelligent alternative to Obama's destructive idiotic policies.

Seriously? You don't think he was smart enough to know that the GOP is looking for a "Black Messiah" since Cain failed in his bid?

So, when Carson appears on the Hannity show, is a guest on numerous right wing talk shows, is written about in numerous outlets, is called the next great hope for the Presidency, he has nothing to do with the Republicans?

As to the purge, the Republican Party lost its claim to "conservatism" with Reagan, and has been purging the party of anything resembling a "conservative" ever since. Today the closest to a "conservative" would be Ron Paul, of Tom Coburn.

My my. I see we have an expert and self ascribed critic here on Dr Carson. Maybe you should do a little research on him before you make such blanket assumptions.

Dr. Carson happens to be a pioneer in brain surgery techniques. Those were not taught to him in a classroom, as they had not been developed yet. Maybe Dr. Carson isn't the opportunist you think he is. Maybe Dr. Carson is the next Martin Luther King Jr. God knows he's needed to save blacks from Uncle Sam's plantations and liberal policies.

Be afraid, be very afraid of Dr. Carson.

While the actual procedure may not have been taught, the necessary knowledge was. I am not arguing about his success, albeit I do not believe any man is capable of doing anything on his own. Just think when the first man made a fire. Where did the embers come from? However, I seriously doubt he has the proclivity to be the next Martin Luther King Jr.

However, his actions at the prayer breakfast are not the actions of a man who cares about tradition, or what others might think. He shows he has no principles, and even now has become a "consultant" for Faux News. If he had chosen some other venue, say as a guest on Hannity, his message would have been appropriate. However, I do find your defense, and that of so many others of the right wing lunacy crowd, of his actions to be quite telling. Maybe he should have taken to the pulpit in a Church, and given his speech. I am sure you would have approved of that too.

Then too, I fear no man.

Revelations 21:8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

Yes, especially those who add nothing to the discussion save for ridicule.

Yes ...
Like repeating the same ol' worn out talking points from the communist main stream media that has nothing to do with the topic in context!
A simple independent thought escapes all low information types .... your comments are a classic example of this.

Again yes. Fear is the great tool of the right, and the left. In fact, in todays political climate fear is about the only tool one has.

True ...
Obama going around the Country exploiting the Sandy Hook tragedy is a great example of how the "right" is using fear tactics to push illegal unConstitutional agendas.
Sarcasm off ....

And, naturally, you can point to some "communist" talking point I have expressed?

True ...

Of course, you, with your mind like a steel trap, noticed where I said both left, and right, yet you chose to ignore that. However, to counter your simplistic right wing talking points agenda, the right wing has used Fast and Furious as a fear mongering event to promote a large increase in gun sales. Of course, they also choose to ignore Operation Wide Receiver because it was a project of the Bush administration, just as they choose to ignore most of what Bush, and the Republicans, "achieved" during their reign that helped in the destruction of America.

the right wing has used Fast and Furious as a fear mongering event to promote a large increase in gun sales.
So .... now the "right wing" is responsible for the increase in gun sales? Wow .....

Sorry "Trap" ..... this low information discussion is becoming monotonous for me ....

The next thing you know you will be blaming Bush ...... oh wait .... nevermind!

Why am I not surprised at the "monotony" in the thread since you cannot support your obvious deceptions, or face reality. The "right wing", such as Limbaugh, Larson, among others, boast of the increase in gun sales since Obama was elected. And who was it that started the paranoia of gun confiscation based on Fast and Furious?

Try reality for a change. Might do you some good.

Lets just admit that this National Prayer Breakfast was never to be some strictly religious matter.

from the Wiki entry

It is designed to be a forum for the political, social, and business elite to assemble and build relationships. Since the inception of the National Prayer Breakfast, several U.S. states and cities and other countries have established their own annual prayer breakfast events.

Just because some liberal pundits have tried to paint it as something else does not make it so. That is merely actually faux news.

And who was it that started the paranoia of gun confiscation based on Fast and Furious?

No idea as there is no paranoia "of gun confiscation" based on Fast & Furious.

There was/is outrage over coverups and gross incompetance but thats hardly the same.

There is legitimate concern over confiscation given legislation has been presented to do so.

Welcome to the mind of the low information type. As I posted earlier, they do not have the capability of forming an independent thought.

Thus, when some "liberal pundit" spouts spin and lies, the low information types parrot it word for word believing it to be the gospel and accuse independent thinking Americans of being uninformed.

An attempt to discuss facts that suggest a different more accurate view will yield no results because of their inability to form an independent thought and the discussion quickly becomes monotonous!

Actually I would prefer the words of one of the Founders, not Wiki. It obviously was not intended to be a platform for political speeches.

In 2005, Time magazine selected Doug Coe as one of the 25 most influential evangelicals in the nation. Coe provides spiritual leadership for the Fellowship Foundation, the entity that organizes the National Prayer Breakfast. This event brings together political leaders from around the world during the first week of February for prayer and networking. Attended by every President since Dwight Eisenhower, the event is the pinnacle of many smaller meetings involving thousands of world leaders and volunteers.
