North Korea backs down on Nukes, for food.

The US government is far more war-hungry then North Korea! One of these days one of the warmongering nuts in the White House is gonna push the atomic button and start World War III. I don't know whether that warmongering nut will be a Democrat or Republican, but it will not matter because everyone on the planet will be just as dead.

North Korea wants to be left alone. The more that South Korea and the United States bully North Korea the more that North Korea's going to want the atomic bomb to defend itself.

If North Korea does not have the right to the atomic bomb then it follows that the United States does not have the right to the atomic bomb. If the United States has the right to the atomic bomb then North Korea has a right to the atomic bomb too!

North Korea wants the bomb to get concessions from the West -- something we amazingly do time and time again.

NK wants to be left alone...hahahahhaa.....now that is funny. They never do anything provocative like launching missiles at SK and claiming to have a missile heading for Hawaii...now do they? They never make aggressive statements and acts against SK or Japan...IN YOUR DELUDED MIND!

I suppose if they invaded SK you would be cheering for them...while they murder innocents by the thousands just as your buddies the Soviets were famous for.

But, they do want to continue to stave, enslave, and imprison their OWN people...and you are fine with that, just as you are fine with the historic killing in the USSR, China, Cuba, Cambodia, Vietnam, etc.

Liberals will be nice to tyrants. Republicans get tough on em. Just like Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and now Barrack Obama is being nice to em. It was Bill Clinton fault that North Korea got Nuclear Weapons. All because Albright was being diplomatic to em.

Well, there seems to be a lot of misunderstanding here.

Many of you appear to be confused. I'm not a Stalinist, I am a Trotskyist sympathizer. Trotskyists defend the Stalinist countries like North Korea, China ,and Cuba against American imperialism. We also defend the planned economies of these countries. However ,we do not give political support to the Stalinist bureaucracies of these countries. Trotskyists call for workers revolution in the capitalist countries and political revolution by the working class in the Stalinist countries.

Who is the aggressor between United States and North Korea? North Korea has never invaded another nation. However, the US government has invaded lots of nations. North Korea has every reason to feel threatened by the United States. Remember, the United States has tens of thousands of troops stationed on North Korea's border. So North Korea has every reason to feel threatened by the United States.

In addition, the South Korean government is hardly a saint in the matter. Currently, the South Korean government is conducting provocative military exercises right on the border. That doesn't sound very peaceful to me.

NK tried to fire missiles at us (one even made it outside NK before falling apart) and is setting off nuclear bombs underground. Doesn 't seem very peaceful to me.

So how many Trotski-esque nations have there been ?

Lenin and Trotsky led the October Revolution in Russia. Under Lenin & Trotsky the Soviet Union took anti-sodomy laws off the books , gave women the right to an abortion, gave women the right to vote a year before women had voting rights in the USA, etc.

Then Stalin came along. There's more to it than just Stalin though.

Stalin represented a new privileged bureaucracy that was usurping power from the Soviet Communist Party. Remember, conditions in the Soviet Union at this time were very difficult. The Soviet Union at this time was only a Third World country. In addition, It was battered by both World War I, and also battered by the invasion of several imperialist armies. There are also the White Forces, who were sort of like the Nicaraguan Contras, and they were armed by the capitalist countries.

The working class at this time in the Soviet Union was very small. Most of the peasantry did not know how to read and write. The Communist Party in the Soviet Union was very isolated. The bureaucracy more and more took power for itself, and Stalin was its top representative. Even while the bureaucrats were murdering, exiling, and imprisoning the communists that led the October Revolution the capitalist news media and politicians continued to refer to the Soviet Union as "communist". Even if the Soviet Union under Stalin was no longer ruled by communists it was convenient for the capitalist countries to label the country "communist" for propaganda purposes.

You can never have "socialism in one country". Just like you can never have capitalism in just one country.

Still the Soviet Union was able to achieve great things with its planned economy, even though it had a rotten Stalinist leadership.

I agree, that Stalin did not follow the Lenin or Mark model of Communism. However it was still a planned economy for most. A few individual had special privileges. Its Economic results were still great almost equal to the USA capitalist economy. Even that was not pure capitalism and their were still vested interests. Nevertheless there was more freedom for most in the USA model

:p Bawhahahahahahah...

Obama’s deal with North Korea a disaster … His reaction, please don’t report on it

The Obama administration has just proven its utter failure in foreign policy. It had negotiated an agreement with the North Korea that in exchange for food it would give up its uranium enrichment program, allow IAEA inspectors into the Yongbyong facilities, halt missile tests and cease nuclear weapons tests. It is now 43 days since the agreement was inked and in that short period of time North Korea has announced plans to launch a satellite with missile based technology (a lightly veiled test of its long range Taepodong-2) and begun preparations for an underground nuclear detonation. This sets the record for the shortest lived agreement yet.

lets all act surprised that our feckless leader would be played like fiddle yet again.

Let's not be too surprised -- it has been American policy for almost two decades to repeat this exact process -- under both D and R leadership.
