Left-Wing Terrorism Surges In Europe, As Governments Dismantle Social Safety Net

With European governments paring back the social safety net, and businesses blamed for creating a crisis, left-wing terrorism in Europe is on the march, according to a new report from EuroPol (the European Police Office).

Spain, Greece and Italy reported a total of 40 attacks by left-wing and anarchist groups for 2009.
This constitutes an increase of 43 % compared to 2008; the number of attacks more than doubled
since 2007.

As in previous years, most attacks were carried out successfully and mainly targeted government and
business interests.The majority of these attacks were arsons, reported by Spain, and caused only property damage.

The percentage of IED attacks decreased from 43 % in 2008 to 20 % in 2009; the majority of these bomb-ings occurred in Greece. In Greece, six left-wing terrorist organisations car-
ried out a total of 15 attacks in 2009.

As this chart shows, left-wing terrorism dwarfs right-wing terrorism in Europe -- perhaps surprising given the attention paid to Europe's far right. Islamist and Separatist terrorism, however, remain the largest categories.

The Druze Arab inhabitants love the freedom they have as Israelis–of not having to worry if a conversation they have on the street will result in their limbs being amputated without anasthesia. The formely Syrian Druze of the Golan Heights rue the day when Syria gets it back (as Obama–and before him, Bush–have been pushing).

Shourd describes herself as a “ teacher-activist-writer from California currently based in the Middle East.” Well, we know for whom she’s an activist and writer–the Iranians-sponsored Syrians and other Islamic terrorists. I’m just worried about whom she is teaching.

Raul Diaz of the Mexican Superintendence of Tax Administration confirmed this week that the Mexican government intends to build a wall along the Mexican/Guatemalan border. Diaz claims that the official purpose of the wall is to prevent the passage of contraband, but has also admitted “It could also prevent the free passage of illegal immigrants.”

Defending the decision to construct the wall, Mexico’s National Commission on Human Rights states that 500,000 people from Central America cross into Mexico illegally every year.

The proposal to construct the wall appears to go against the principles held by Mexican President Felipe Calderon, who, when speaking out against the state of Arizona for its tough immigration measure, remarked, “Criminalizing immigration, which is a social economic phenomena, this way opens the door to intolerance, hate, and discrimination. My government cannot and will not remain indifferent when these kinds of policies go against human rights.”

Obama Stimulus Made Economic Crisis Worse, `Black Swan' Author Taleb Says

U.S. President Barack Obama and his administration weakened the country’s economy by seeking to foster growth instead of paying down the federal debt, said Nassim Nicholas Taleb, author of “The Black Swan.”

“Obama did exactly the opposite of what should have been done,” Taleb said yesterday in Montreal in a speech as part of Canada’s Salon Speakers series. “He surrounded himself with people who exacerbated the problem. You have a person who has cancer and instead of removing the cancer, you give him tranquilizers. When you give tranquilizers to a cancer patient, they feel better but the cancer gets worse.”

Today, Taleb said, “total debt is higher than it was in 2008 and unemployment is worse.”

Obama this month proposed a package of $180 billion in business tax breaks and infrastructure outlays to boost spending and job growth. That would come on top of the $814 billion stimulus measure enacted last year. The U.S. government’s total outstanding debt is about $13.5 trillion, according to U.S. Treasury Department figures.

Obama, 49, inherited what the National Bureau of Economic Research said this week was the deepest U.S. recession since the Great Depression. Even after the stimulus measure and other government actions, the U.S. unemployment rate is 9.6 percent.

Governments globally need to cut debt and avoid bailing out struggling companies because that’s the only way they can shield their economies from the negative consequences of erroneous budget forecasts, Taleb said.

Errant Forecasts

“Today there is a dependency on people who have never been able to forecast anything,” Taleb said. “What kind of system is insulated from forecasting errors? A system where debts are low and companies are allowed to die young when they are fragile. Companies always end up dying one day anyway.”

Taleb, a native of Lebanon who gave his speech in French to an audience of Quebec business people, said Canada’s fiscal situation makes the country a safer investment than its southern neighbor.

Canada has the lowest ratio of net debt to gross domestic product among the Group of Seven industrialized countries and will keep that distinction until at least 2014, the country’s finance department said in March. Canada’s ratio, 24 percent in 2007, will rise to about 30 percent by 2014. The U.S. ratio, now above 40 percent, will top 80 percent in four years, the department said, citing IMF data.

“I am bullish on Canada,” he told the audience. “I prefer Canada to the U.S. or even Europe.”

Mortgage Interest

Canada’s economy also benefits from the fact that homeowners, unlike their U.S. neighbors, can’t take mortgage interest as a tax deduction, Taleb said. That removes the incentive to take on too much debt, he said.

“The first thing to do if you want to solve the mortgage problem in the U.S. is to stop making these interest payments deductible,” he said. “Has someone dared to talk about this in Washington? No, because the U.S. homebuilders’ lobby is hyperactive and doesn’t want people to talk about this.”

Taleb also criticized banks and securities firms, saying they don’t adequately warn clients of the risks they run when they invest their retirement savings in the stock market.

Go see how much the lower 85% of taxpayers give... it is basically zilch. Most of them, the lower 55% is on the take receiving earned income tax credit welfare. The whole system is contingent on the most successful paying 86% of all IRS tax collected [their fair share as the clinton's and obama have repeated in chorus] and now it is drying up.

The wealthy are expatriating as fast as the illegals can cross the reo Grande. So as you get rid of the productive, you get more seeing welfare and handouts! Beautiful. And tax collections have tanked.

Forget what obama political policies have done to the economy. Here we have more borrowing and spending and more deficits than any historical white house occupants and it is not a world war. Well not yet but if you burn enough US flags, Bibles and korans then maybe we will get there.

It is not the big things in life that make people mad. It is insulting their common sense. Whether you believe that a mosque is merely a symbol of the Muslim religion and not the world trade terrorists, you have to ask yourself if the placement on the mosque literally on the campus of the world trade center memorial is a matter of religious freedom or insulting politically.

All of the 9/11 terrorist professed that they were doing this for Islam. So apparently their belief system led them to the conclusion that killing US citizens was a good idea. The beef it seems to me is between the peaceful Muslims and the killers of innocent people but until they figure that out, putting a mosque up on 9/11 sends a wrong message. Because which one of the two polarities are to be believed?

They say it is a private property issue. Yet for public sentiment strip joints can't be built on any block. Certain types of buildings can't be built within a certain number of feet from schools.

Why would any group want to build a mosque right near the worst terrorist attack in US history? It is hardly a sign of healing and that is why the public is upset. They don't want the strip club in their neighborhood.

To complicate matters or to resolve them, Trump offered a 25% profit to the owners of the property. And now the owners are holding out. They know the whole thing is infuriating the public. What would make someone behave like that? That is unreasonable. It is like the guy with the porn shop intentionally trying to press his will against the neighborhood standards.

So how much will Soho hold out for? Who knows but at some point that too becomes blackmail.

And here you have Obama siding with the muslims just feeding the fire with more fire logs. Then you have RINO now independent bloomberg claiming that this is not about terrorists it is about Muslim religion which is a matter of religious freedom. So here we see liberals adhering to the First Amendment which they never do if it involves any symbol of Christianity, not a manger or Christmas scene. But they say this is private property. Again I repeat private property rights are not unlimited and must answer to local pubic standards.

But the democrats have been doing this all year to the public. They ignored the public's outrage over obmacare, cap and trade, the bailouts etc. But they did what they wanted with the assumption that pelosi and reid knew better than the people what they wanted.

But now this gets personal but dems don't care. For them the world is one great big abortion clinic where every American has to subject themselves to insult in the name of privacy, or religious freedom etc. Yet let's remember it is the libs that want the censorship of media by the fairness doctrine. They want to shut down opposing voices. Just like that moron out here that plays the dumb country boy shtick. He has an agenda.

So I applaud Trump for trying to do something he thought best for the people of NYC while the libs and bloomberg push their will against the people. And this company Soho? Where do they get there money? I bet if you look close it comes indirectly from bin laden. This is the way radial muslims operate. they play games. Remember Saddam and his signs "Baby Milk Factory" and inside was a weapons arsenal.

So I say the whole outrage speaks for itself. The people by a large majority are opposed to this mosque near this burial site. If you want to blindly say it is a property issue then just consider this a porn shop because local sentiment does matter. Nobody is blocking this mosque over matters of property or religious freedom. They are blocking it because it is too close to a grave site which some fundamentalist Muslims caused. It is not necessary for the American public to decided which faction of the Muslim religion caused this; plenty of Muslims across the US were happy to see the towers go down. Don't lull yourself into believing that one group of Muslims is good an another bad. It is always a mixed bag.

But one thing people don't need is politicians spinning arguments to find an excuse and a way out. It is not the Citizens that have anything to prove, it is the Muslims that have a long long way to go to prove their religion preaches decency and tolerance to others. The Koran preaches no such message. So I am not going to invent an excuse and cloak it in a property issue. This is not about private property rights. It is about a distasteful and provocative conduct of a group of muslims that insist on adding insult to irritation and have ignited a firestorm and are now holding the nation hostage.

Just as the decent folks on those doomed aircraft were held hostage to the will of their lying captures. Remember they told the passengers no harm would come to them though they planned to murder them all. They said their muslim prayers into the black boxes knowing full well they were murdering. Yet there is not one commandment in the Muslim Koran that says "thou shalt not kill" in fact it is quite the opposite, the Koran allows killing for the advancement of the nation of Islam and condones its. The Koran is not about tolerance it is about utter intolerance for any religion but theirs.

And don't look at obama as a Christian as he claims. He is a Rev Wright strain remember the sermon.... "GD American?" Obama and his baboon sat through 14 years of that message and still were unable to form an opinion about it's validity. But Obama sure knows how to pray to Allah. He knows all the prayers. So just pass me another one of them fire logs... says obama and enjoy some more religious and racial polarization in your face.
