Modern Liberalism =- Authoritarianism

This is a nice concise viewpoint I find most accurate.

"Leftists like to think of themselves as clear-thinking realists who are sensitive to nuance and irony. In reality, they are like little children who regard fairy tales as non-fiction. For instance, they champion socialism even though the past hundred years have proven time and again that it doesn't work in practice the way it does in theory. On the contrary, in every country where it has existed, it has inevitably led to loss of liberty, widespread poverty and mass murder on a scale that has no parallel in human history. Point out this obvious fact to a liberal, and once he gets done calling you a greedy, heartless, bloodthirsty reactionary, he'll insist that we haven't yet seen true socialism. Actually, we have, though. We've seen it in the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany, in China, Cambodia, North Korea and Cuba." --columnist Burt Prelutsky

How does one treat children when they act up? Do you give them a time out or do you resort to spanking? I think you know my preference. What's yours?

Why you think College students take up journalism 101? BECAUSE THEY WANNA CHANGE THE WORLD!!! Just like those loving liberal hippies back in the 60s wanted to change the world because they were against the vietnam war.

All this recent talk of authoritarianism applying to Conservatives fails the logic test.

Anyone with a brain knows modern liberalism is authoritarian as this great thread proves comprehensively.

Actual conservativism favors government so small that the idea that it could ever become authoritarian is simply laughable....large intrusive government is a prerequisite for an authoritarian government to exist...and large intrusive government is precisely the opposite of what conservatives favor.

A lot of those so called hippies were probably just in it for the sex and drugs as well.

In that case, I would venture that actual conservatives must be a rare species

Not so rare as you might think. The point is that any authoritarian government is, by definition, not a conservative government. It may fall on the conservative side of the socialist/liberal spectrum, but would still be socialist/liberal in nature if that government has enough power to actually become authoritarian over its people.

Modern Liberalism = Authoritarianism

:
not opposed to new ideas or ways of behaving that are not traditional or widely accepted
*
progressive:

Wasn't it republican ratbags under instructions from Trump responsible for the attempted overthrow of democracy?

Could that have been authoritarianism?

That was a cheap shot son. Youll have to do better than that.

The Fascist Roots of the American Left | Dinesh D'Souza SPECIAL EVENT at Yale University

This Reagan White House policy veteran and nationally renowned filmmaker has plenty to share about what lies ahead for America, and he is taking campuses around the country by storm with his “D’Souza Unchained” lecture series, a politically incorrect conversation about what truly makes America great. Dinesh is uniquely qualified to speak on this—he grew up in a country ruled by gangs with little to no hope of social advancement and came to America in pursuit of the American Dream, something that no other country can lay claim to
