On Wednesday [the 8th of June] Ohio Governor John Kasich signed a medical marijuana legalization bill into law. He said he wanted children with certain medical conditions to relieve their pain using marijuana.

His signature makes Ohio the 26th state to legalize medical marijuana.

It won't be long before medical marijuana is legalized all over the U.S [I think].

I'm extremely pro-pot, both medical and recreational. However, as an Ohio citizen, I am very against how they were trying to set up the whole operation when they were trying to make it legal for recreational use. Luckily, the way it was proposed for recreational purposes, it didn't pass. Basically, it was going to make a lot of rich people richer and wasn't going to allow any small business people to even attempt to profit from the whole thing, which I think is about a close to a monopoly as you can get without actually being one.

Pot isn't something that should be illegal. However, it's use shouldn't be encouraged among teenagers. At that age it can cause massive learning problems which might be hard or impossible to overcome, like a lower IQ. As far as adults are concrened, the effect of pot is something that probably needs more research. However, it is known that it has as many cancer causing agents as tobacco and can dirty up lungs as much as tobacco.

Already in our nation many students and schools are failing. Given this fact, why would we want to purposely encourage the use of an IQ lowering drug? On the other hand, making pot and other drugs illegal uses up too many resources. Especially in the case of pot, it seems ridiculous. Imagine helicopters with space age equipment flying over farmland searching for little plants. That's what's actually going on.

They're not that little. The difficulty us if they're growing among other crops.

Teens should not have access to anything except milk, orange juice, and iced tea.

Definitely not pot, alcohol, tobacco, dope, or sex.

This is a very good thing. It could save many people's lives and improve the lives of countless more. The fact that it has not already been legalized across America is barbaric. This silly stigma placed on certain substances is outdated and needs to end.
