May has lost her majority . I don't think it is necessary a change to the left. I think political trends are volatile at the moment. In Britain the new young voters , voted for a Socialist because he promise free university places and he would tax the rich more. This has work in parts of Europe and even in Australia for a short time. Self interests is the main motivation. The Conservatives will have to consider the needs of young voters not just the elite.

Corbyn was underestimated he is an experienced politicians.People wanted a sincere person they'd had enough of the phoney Blairite New Labour.The strange thing is its the winner that looks sad and the loser that's celebrating.The Tories have formed a crackpot alliance with the DUP to keep their majority in parliament.

Yes, and I bet that Teresa May's "friendly" approach to Trump has not helped her a bit! In fact, although this "fake love affair" with the clown in the White House is not the MAIN reason she lost BIG, I am certain that her "pro-Trump" attitude and "anti- Europe" attitude are a majore cause for her downfall!
The whole world hates Trump. . .and playing "apologist" with his crazy policies are a bad move for leadership everywhere!
Look how well Macron and Merkel are doing. . .and compare their attitude toward the clown with May's attitude. . .now look at the results!
Or just let his inability to deliver on this take care of it.
Had she followed Trump's lead on muslim terrorism she would have won easily. Going soft hurt her in light of the rash of attacks.

Ridiculous! She lost because she followed Trump, and because she is too arrogant and aggressive with allies. . .just like Trump.
She also lost because she CUT funding for police force!
Maybe you should consider reading and listening to something else than Fox and Breibart!
She backed the mayor in tut tutting muslim terrorists murdering citizens. Hardly siding with trump.

Now. . . IF you are able to read for comprehension, you will notice that he didn't say there was no cause to be alarmed by terrorist attacks. . . but no reason to be alarmed by INCREASED POLICE PRESENCE!

I think there is no proof that he cannot deliver. Several European countries have deliver free university places for all. Australia did this under the Whitlam Labor government in the 1970s. It finish when he was dismissed by the Governor General. But a system where students do not pay university fee until they graduated and earn a certain income was introduced. With increase taxes for the rich the government can afford it. Hope's idea of increasing university fees help in her defeat. While she has tried to make a coalition with the Irish Unionist party this will not give her votes with the young. She can be replaced in the English system without impeachment and I think she will. Bris Johnson might take over.
You mean the Theresa May that, as a Home Secretary, weakened the Police by radical cuts to the budget?

Not exactly the one of the best moves on the board! They also tried to offset the budget cuts by employing "special constables" basically volunteers with uniforms who were local to a certain area and would patrol in their local area - there has always been a complaint that the police were out of touch with the local community because they were taken off the beat and put into cars. So "specials" would work with the "reals" and be their local eyes and ears. Trouble was they had no real powers - they have no power of arrest or detainment. So, for example if there was a bar brawl or disturbance all they could do was radio for assistance and wait for the "real" to appear which I would assume is what the general public at the scene would do anyway!
It all came to head a few of years ago when on two "specials" were called to an incident were a young lad and his younger sister sister got in difficulty at a canal - apparently the young girl had fallen into the canal and her brother had dived in to try and save her but got into difficulties, two anglers dived in to help the young girl - who they did in fact rescue. The "specials" arrived as the anglers were trying to rescue the young girl - they were standing at the edge of the canal watching the anglers help the young girl but refused to assist the young lad. When the anglers got the girl out they went back in for the young lad and the "specials" just watched, because they were not trained in water patrol or something like that and there was no one in a senior position to do a risk assessment for them, anyway they stood by and watched the lad drown.
Greed is one reason Hope lost. But the emergence of new young voters is more important. These voters may also be greedy wanting free university and health. Even in the USA Saunders did well on these policies. There may be a reaction against Trump but I think it is also a reaction against those on the right who do not care for the youth. This is a sign of the future everywhere.

Nobody doesn't care for youth but you can't take it seriously and for Sanders to pander to it is sad.
