'Law and Order' twinning Paula Deen, Trayvon Martin storylines

In the episode, Cybill Shepard plays Jolene Castille, a famous southern chef who guns down an unarmed, hoodie-wearing black teen she thought was following her on the Upper West Side, TV Guide reported

So, the Cybill Shepard character is sort of a take-off on Trayvon Martin? Like the Shepard character, Martin may have thought he was being followed for some evil purpose. Martin was wrong too, but he didn't have a gun with which to deliver immediate death to the innocent party. Instead, Martin had his fists, an ambush, a sucker punch to Zimmerman's nose, and some hard concrete as his weapon against Zimmerman's head.

This tv show could be made a lot better if the writers changed the story some. Have the Shepard character's first shot miss the hoodie character. Allow the hoodie character to have a gun too, and fire back after being attacked, killing the Shephard character. One could easily argue that the hoodie-wearing character was defending himself!!.... unless the hoodie-wearing character was white of course...... if so, he'd have to be guilty for defending himself

It would have been a lot more interesting if the Cybil/Paula Deene character was a white woman whose black grandson was the President of the United States.

Obama said when his grandmother (the one who raised him) saw a black man coming her way she would cross the street. She was afraid of them. Fear of being attacked, you know, like how the Trayvon character attacked Zimmerman.
