Presumably, Abram's willingness to slit his only son's throat impressed God so much that he promised him real estate and special privileges and even gave him an extra syllable for his name.

He also gave him a second son, Ishmael, who also managed to have a much larger legacy and LOTS more real estate. I would like to note here that Ishmael's ostensibly illegitimate descendants, the Arabs, vastly outnumber the Hebrews, and they also have extensive real estate as well as a religion with many, many more members.

I am not taking sides here, just saying, when I read the Bible and studied geography, those seem to be quite valid conclusions.

Well, yeah, that is what the Bible says, but the Bible seems indisputably biased towards the Jews. There are vastly more Arabs than Jews.
