The superintendent of a New Jersey school where students were videotaped being taught to sing the praises of President Obama issued a statement Thursday saying the taping was unauthorized but failed to address wheather the the lesson taught during Black History Month -- was approved.

Of course they would say this,THEY WERE CAUGHT IN THE ACT TRYING TO BRAINWASH INNOCENT MINDS!!

Totally sickening!

POS, this is exactly what indoctrination is, whether it's a harsh word or not. You need to get the image of someone taping a victims eyelids open while forcing them to watch video images over and over out of your head as your definition of indoctrination. That is the insidiousness of indoctrination - it is so often couched in subtlety, but this is definitely it.

That's not really true. There have been stories and songs about Presidents. Many specifically meant to give children a message about the honor of doing good deeds and showing character.

George Washington cutting down the cherry tree... Abraham Lincoln as honest Abe... on & on & on...

And I'm sure somewhere there were kids singing some stupid song about Bush... it just didn't get press.

And I don't see the problem because this is not a dictatorship where the kids are being indoctrinated to an on going control structure. This is a democracy where the leaders at all levels change many times from between when you are a kid in elementary school and when you're old enough to vote.

This is a pride in the office of the President thing. The people who are all upset are only upset because they don't like our President. Which has nothing to do with a song being harmful... which it obviously is not.

When American school children start singing about other world leaders being better then our own that's a problem. Being proud of our President... not a problem and actually patriotic!

I see what you are saying, but we dont usually praise presidents till they have long since been dead. Even Reagan has not been dead long enough for us to start singing songs about him in school exc.


We wont agree on this like we dont agree on many things.

I wish for fun I could go back in time and get some teachers to sing a song about President George W. Bush to the tune of Jesus loves the little children
