I Just Burned copies of the Koran today.

Just to throw this out there, the Hebrew that is used in the bible to describe the flood is actually the word "land", not "world". Now you can have a flood throughout the land, without it being a worldwide event.

I don't think there was a worldwide flood, but the story could very easily be more about a localized flood and then added to make a point.

So Noah built a arch with all the animals....for a local flood?

I am sure it very well could say land and not world...the bible is full of mistranslations , but does not make sense with story with land ( then again world does not fit with physics ...and the 2 animals thing reaks of inbreeding issues...but still....

LOL, apparently. ;)

I have no idea, I just find it interesting that the word is not actually "world."

I do not think the bible (and certainly not the Old Testament) ought to be taken literally.

Well, it is for me at least.... let us both hope that Steve is not the norm in this country.

From the ones I have talked to on the issue who are against it...he is the majority, you are the minority.

I think this shows what I am talking about as well.

All I Need to Know About Islam, I Learned on 9/11." Like Mirza, Raufu

It's about your faith. Islam is a religion of hate, they say. Muslims are out to wipe out Christianity. There are 20 jihadi training camps hidden across rural America, busy even now producing the next wave of terrorists. Muslims murder their children. Christian kids have enough problems with drugs, alcohol and pornography and should not have to worry about Islam too. "I don't want it in my backyard," says one. Another says, "I just think it's not America."

Also don't forget Dogtowner is with steve...Just a guess that Gipper is, Pandora has not spoken out against it, ( so by her ideas supports it...since I guess I "ignore" ( even though I don't) Muslim attacks on American.

even on this board, on the Right..I think your the outlier of those against it...

Also if you are against it, are you against the Mosque in the pentagon? Or Strip Clubs near the WTC? How do you justify being against it, without in fact casting blame for Sept 11, on all Muslims....? I have had a few friends try to say it was not about attacking Islam, but not one can tell me why its wrong...without saying somehow those who are of the Islamic faith must in some way be held responsible for others who claim there faith...Something those same people would never do if Christians... ( such as How I don't hold all Christians responsible for the fact some redneck inbreeds burned or planned to burn Korans...Commited Arson against a Mosque site, or a Jewish Guy Pipe bombed a Mosque and had planned to gun down those who fled...) I hold...those who actually do it responsible...not all Christians.

So please try to tell me...why Muslims can't be near WTC....Muslims have nothing in common with the Terrorist...why they can't have a place for them...in there comunitiy....outside of the single fact someone else of there faith committed horrible actions...I see it as nothing more then the same idea behind why we imprisons people from Japan in WWII...for being from Japan even if US Citizens...Because the people who attacked us , where from Japan...we used it to justify something we otherwise never would. Those people did nothing to cause hate, hurt, death, anything...but we blamed them...we justified with with crap we knew not to be true.

Indeed, the Tigris/Euphrates river valleys are prone to flooding, though much more in the past when Noah supposed lived than now. Just look at the massive flooding that has occurred along the Indus this year. Now, if you were an ancient nomad living there and that happened, you'd certainly think it was the end of the world. The fact is that floods occur every year, and on every major land mass on Earth. So why should it come to a surprise to anyone that anicent people made up fairy tales about them?

Occum's razor.
