Health care systems compared

o_O....... the OP looks at the German health system and how it works etc. and all of sudden you make the quantum leap to how they tot up dead babies.....and decided what.... that the German hospitals are in fact charnal houses or some form of medieval torture chamber? Is that all the Germans do in their hospitals, devise devious methods of counting dead babies in order to vex Americans and WHO officials.

Maybe a bit more productive to try and widen the scope of your dissection.... how do they treat live babies for example!
They trest them the way we treat all of them. Treat their skinned knees, colds and flu.
And it's much the same for non babies.
But when it gets costly is where you see the differences.

And some European countries consider the occurence of stillbirth for fetus that are 22 or 24 weeks old. . .while the WHO considers it at 28 week, and consider a foetus prior to 28 weeks to be a miscarriage, not a stillbirth.

So. . .what does that have to do with healthcare in Germany? As I stated before (and provided a WHO article to confirm it), infant mortality is a LOT MORE than stillbirth. . .and, actually, stillbirth statistics is NOT the main cause of infant mortality!

So. . .stop focusing on "stillbirth" and start broadening your views and explain why CHILDREN, (as in TODDLERS) are more likely to die in the US than almost anywhere in developed countries!
You're supposedly a social worker, you should know why.

You're supposedly a social worker, you should know why.

I am not "supposedly" anything. Unlike you, when I say something it is ALWAYS the truth.
And although I do have experience with people with mental illness. . .your kind of dark, punitive and forbidding mind will always be a puzzle that I prefer not to be revealed in its entirety!

Now, every few months you come back with the same demeaning BS and imply that I am lying about my degrees and career.

I am sick of it and your narrow, hateful little mind.

I have NOTHING to hide, and I do NOT lie. . .ever. . .because I realised quite early in my life that lies are not only stupid and demeaning, but demonstrate a lack of confidence in one's self-worth. I am not exceptional in anyway. . .but I am thoroughly honest and I am GOOD, and I do not NEED to lie to make me look better than what I am.

So, today I have decided to put your stupidity aside once and for all. Here are my diplomas. . .and, yes, with my REAL name!

So do you know why or not?
You always come back with insults when you have nothing else.

Go to hell. I'm done with you. You accuse me of insulting you, but you never miss a chance to insult and belittle me. . . or at least attempt to do so.
You can't even admit that you were wrong, and that I am whom I say I am.

You are not a big enough person to recognise you are wrong and to apologise.

Go to hell. . .that is where you belong with your constant darkness and arrogance. I am certain you'll have plenty of company among your fellow Trumpeters!

I accept your surrender.

Wow ....

Thanks for the post Walter.

After all the hateful screaming and mud slinging from the last few post I was a bit confused on the topic of this thread.

I will agree with you the medical care and medications are unbelievable expensive here in the US.

I see a lot of folks going to Canada and Mexico for meds and even some medical treatments.

Mostly just meds though.

The health care system in the U.S. prohibitively expensive. There's no doubt about that. But it doesn't mean that they should look to Canada as a good example of health care reform. They say Canadians get "free" health care but it's not really free if you pay with your time is it? Not to mention the lack of access to specialists whom you have to wait 3 years to see. That too only if you're lucky enough to convince the gatekeeper GP family doctor that your problem is serious enough to warrant a visit.

You're still the fool with a lower then eighth grade education, or so your posts indicate. Tell me fool, what is a "non baby"?

Openmind says:

The right wing "christian" fools responds:
You're supposedly a social worker, you should know why.

Recognizing your lack of intellect, or even intellectual curiosity, why is it you cannot figure it out for yourself? Why do you have to be constantly spoonfed information? Try something you support as a cause, income inequality:

http://www.businessinsider.com/why-infant-mortality-higher-in-us-than-europe-2014-10

"Cumulative infant mortality rates are higher in the US at every stage — at birth, in the first month, and in the first year — ..........

The authors think the cumulative difference in rates, therefore, have less to do with acute health problems just after birth and more to do with SIDS, sudden death, and accidents.

The data suggests that the higher infant mortality in the US comes almost entirely from the deaths of babies born to poor women. Once they broke down the data into income and education levels the researchers found that, somewhat unsurprisingly, the infants of well-off, educated white women are just as likely to survive as their counterparts in Europe. They also found that the data was unchanged if they excluded black infants from the US sample (n.b. there is a documented black-white gap in infant mortality rates, but the authors find that it doesn't seem to be a mechanism here).

Thus, the conclusion is that this is about class. Poor women in the United States see their infants die at an alarming rate, given the medical technology available in this country.

Have you lived in Canada? Have you experienced their healthcare? Have you lived in any country with universal healthcare? I have. And I would take any of those country's healthcare before the US healthcare system, although I was one of the lucky one who always enjoyed a "cadillac" plan (even two, while both my husband and I worked).

By the way, have you heard about Trump's new failed attempt to disparage UK's healthcare? It seriously backfired when he lied about the "protests against the UK healthcare system in London," while those protests were actually motivated by the OPPOSITE: these protests were triggered by the fear to LOSE the system of healthcare that the UK has been enjoying for over 70 years, due to the decrease in funding pushed forward by the Tories (the RIGHT wing in the UK!)

Trump is so stupid an unaware that he constantly puts his foot in his mouth!

an FYI for you...NHS net expenditure (resource plus capital, minus depreciation) has increased from £78.881 billion in 2006/07 to £120.512 billion in 2016/17. Planned expenditure for 2017/18 is £123.817bn and for 2018/19 is £126.269bn. Don't get caught up the the politics of the NHS and all the crap from the Tories and Labour and all the other assholes.... there is actually more going into it every year.

With an expanding population, and lower incomes, would that not be the normal trend of events?
