For those of you keeping score, I didn't tune into the SOTU, but I checked in with MSNBC to watch some excessive fawning over the greatness of our Teleprompter Reader in Chief. Then after about 5 minutes turn to CNN and end with FOX... after that I fired up the PS3 for some Black Ops2 Zombies.....just kidding.....thats what my son did...

Substance aside — the president delivered yet another effective and persuasive politcal speech. He framed himself as a sensible politician in a dysfunctional town full of straw-man opponents.... He acknowledged our deficit problem, but said we can’t cut our way to prosperity... In a heartfelt way, he explained how smart government will educate our kids, protect our social safety net, reduce our school loans, provide health care, fix our bridges, increase our wages, eradicate poverty, and end our wars. These are all great goals, but conservatives rightly differ on the best way to get there....
Only conservative policies can make the promise of American opportunity and prosperity reality for every American, but the president has captured that rhetorical high ground, using center-right terminology to justify an expansive government vision that purports to solve every ill. He gave a speech ... as he regularly does ... that meets people where they are, regardless of the policy reality that follows (and he is abetted by a largely uncritical press).

An accurate critique of the Prez.

If conservatism is a return to the values/politics of yesteryear will conservatism really result in a good outcome. Don't the pubs spend almost as much? Don't they seek power to the same degree? Don't they also grow government and debt?

I think even the brainless recognize that the republicans are not that much better than the dems so too many stay home on election night. I used to think that first we needed to oust the dems and then we needed to change the pubs. Now I think that we need to get rid of them both. I think we are seeing the demise of the pub party right now. The only question is will the next party win against the dems?

I have been doing a lot thinking on why this President was re-elected...IMO this is the curse of identity politics, and I hope that it will not permanently disfigure the country’s politics.. The majority of Americans have decided that, whatever his faults, this president must be deemed a success, even if he has not actually succeeded.. must be allowed his greatness in lieu of his failure really to have earned it. There may be wisdom in the judgment that eight years of dubious leadership is a small price to pay for the sake of the symbolic value of the spectacle... One only wishes that the president had the self knowledge to recognize the gift that has been given him, and the humility to acknowledge that his success derives, not from the flawed policies he continues to pursue, but from an act of electoral grace and favor.

Well do not despair. BO will do so much damage that even foolish Ds and uninformed Americans will come to realize it. The economy will not improve and likely slides into a deep recession, if not depression, within the next four years. Government dependence will continue to rise, as will the debt. Even the ignorant will recognize the danger we are in. Hopefully the backlash against BO and the socialists will lead to a return to the rule of law, capitalism, and individual liberty.

BO won because of three things.
    1. Romney was a terrible candidate, who ran a terrible campaign, and was advised by big government establishment Rs, who now blame the TP for their failures. The R party, as it exists today, stinks.
    2. The MSM did all they could to get BO elected and many foolish uninformed Americans bought their BS.
    3. About 100 million eligible voters did not vote. We can only hope they will wake up and take action, after another four more years of destructive policies by Big Ears.

And BO's speech sucked. It was more big government socialist bull shit. The man is completely delusional. He thinks government spending creates wealth. How dumb must one be to believe that?

See I TOLD YA! Blame the RNC nominating Mitt Romney. Check my posts in the past. Did i or didnt i warn you nominating Mitt would be a Big mistake! Why didnt those deligates wake up and voted for NEWT! Newt Gingrich was good enough to stand against Obama! I WARNED YALL THIS WAS GONNA HAPPEN! And now its happened because the RNC deligates were so stubborn and stupid not to reject the voters. Look at the Past RNC convention mistakes

1964 They nominated BARRY GOLDWATER Instead of Nelson Rockefeller who could have defeated LBJ
1976 They nominated Gerald Ford Instead of Ronald Reagan who could have defeated Jimmy Carter
1996 They nominated Bob Dole Instead of Pat Buchanan who could have defeated Bill Clinton
And now They didnt nominate NEWT! Like i said the RNC Chairman should be FIRED cause he failed to use common sence by not blocking Mitt Romney nomination. the Chair does habe that power to do that. It like this,,What does George Steinbrenner do when the Yankees lose the playoffs or get eliminated from playoffs. RIGHT HE FIRES THE YANKEES MANAGER!! How many times Billy Martin got fired by old George? I want yall rent a movie called """ The Bronx is burning """ And youll see how George knows how to get things done.

They reelected him. I still have a hard time believing that... He won 303 electoral votes by only doing interviews on sports radio, ET, The View, and Pimp with a Limp...Obama has Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid with him; together they have a Mike Tyson level understanding of economics. Cutting spending around them is like inviting your drug dealer to your intervention.
He is a Chicago politician. He thinks that everything in Washington is a zero-sum game. One side wins, the other loses. He has the same view of the economy. If Apple succeeded, the company must have screwed over someone.
Obama only knows politics, and he only has one go-to reaction: campaign mode. He does not persuade with better ideas, he blames and then destroys his enemies. Remember the Boy Scout Romney...

He applies to politics the business model of Chicago street gangs: Destroy rivals to gain turf. But the economy does not work that way. Apple does well with Verizon's success and in spite of AT&T's failure. They depend on each other, with mutually beneficial and enlightened self-interest in a growing economic pie. One person's economic success multiplies into greater wealth for others.

The recession he "inherited" ended July 2009, months after he was sworn in. Since then we have had the worst economic growth of any so-called recovery in 65 years.BUT they reelected him...

They never meant the same thing....from the founding of the Party there have been opposing factions within it -- moderates/conservatives etc. It is a big tent party.

I don't think so. The party has tried to marginalize and demonize the Tea Party for years now. Look what that asshole Karl Rove is doing to shut down the Tea Party.

The Rs nominate a progressive in Romney and when he loses, to the worst president in history, they blame the Tea Party. They are far from a big tent party. And they are not a conservative party.

    Die R Party....DIE!!!
