What determines one's political persuasion?
There are several factors that seem to affect one's tendency. They include race, religion, sexuality, age, occupation, and probably a few more I have failed to mention. Let me explain...
Race: If one is black, it is very likely you vote D in every election. This group is extremely monolithic. Maybe the most monolithic of any group.
Religion: Those of the Jewish faith tend to vote D. Not as much as Blacks, but I suspect it is close. This does not apply to Christians as they tend to vote in large numbers for either party. Fundamentalist Christians do vote mostly for Rs. Muslims do seem to like Ds and specifically Obama...see this - http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/muslim-americans-give-obama-80-percent-a
Sexuality: homosexuals side with Dems in high numbers. There does not appear to be any trend for heterosexuals.
Age: younger voters tend to vote D more than older voters. This is likely due to the terrible liberal bias they endured in the g-schools.
Occupation: Government and union workers tend to vote D in overwhelming numbers. G-school teachers vote D something like 80% of the time. Other occupations do not appear to be so monolithic. If one is a welfare recipient, it would seem they would also vote overwhelmingly D, if they vote at all. If one is a tort lawyer, I would guess you vote D predominately. If one is a small business owner, you likely vote R.
So, do you agree that the characteristics outlined determine how one votes?
