    There has been a change in fertility in many Asia countries. Is it because they are copying the West or is there less need for large families as their countries developed.

    In tribal societies children are like an insurance when you are getting old. The higher the degree of education and GDP per capita of a human population, the fewer children are born in any industrialized country.
