All pols fail but the question is whether lack of a comprehensive policy to facilitate immigration will doom the GOP in 2016.

I am sorry, but the topic is "Can Republicans Win" not can voters win. The voters have been losing for decades as the country is turned into a third world nation. The only thing that keeps us on top is our nuclear arsenal.

As to the immigration question, it did not prevent Bush from being reelected while he supported CAFTA, and amnesty for illegals, no has it prevented Republicans from controlling both the House, and the Senate, now. So, you are right. The majority of the people could care less, and cannot see the harm it has done to the country.

I don't think Hillary can win in the general, and it scares the hell out of me should the Republicans gain control of all three branches as they did under Bush. Hopefully a more rational mind like Sanders will prevail.

The Republican party has won 1 popular vote since 1992..Even Clinton can win....Republicans are only doing ok right now because its a rabid poorly informed base....they should not appeal to the moderates who pay attention later.

The above is a demonstrable fact. Republicans are perfectly capable of winning elections. I think it will depend on the nominee on if Republicans make a run at the White House in 2016 - but given the right nominee I think it is doable.

Don't forget that these other shifts have had positive electoral effects. The status quo has changed a bit. These changes are slow to make themselves apparantly but we should start seeing the effect.

And that, along with over stacking districts with black majorities to overstate their ratios which is what helped the donkeys get majorities.

I can see his platform easily enough. As that frames his interpretation there is no value in looking further.
