al-Qaida attack on US for Xmas

A Nigerian man who said he was an agent for al-Qaida tried to blow up a Northwest Airlines plane Friday as it was preparing to land in Detroit, but travelers who smelled smoke and heard what sounded like firecrackers rushed to subdue him, the passengers and federal officials said.

Glad they got him in time, once again the American Public win where Security failed...of course had it worked right away, they would have failed as well..

Soon its going to be impossible to fly anymore with all the security needed to keep planes safe. Should be interesting to find out if he had real ties, or just one more wan-a-bee...but sounds like he may have had some decent help in this...
