A centrist foreign policy?

As I see it, we have always leaned to the Right in our foreign policy. Centrism should mean that we do not meddle in the internal affairs of other nations, unless they meddle in ours. That we do not routinely support left or right factions in other nations.

Centrism does not prevent us from intervening in the cause of human rights.

Have we not routinely supported right wing regimes in South and Central America in the past? Opposed Left wing regimes in the any corner of the world?

Did not even the sainted Ronnie Raygun support right wing regimes in Central America, using American tax dollars to do so, covertly, at that?
