Left Coast Secession

There is a movement that appears to be gathering steam for California, Washington and Oregon to secede from the US and form their own country.
I say let them do this and good riddance.
First of all these 3 states are carrying huge loads of debt. Cal has $70,000 per citizen. Wash has $62,000 per citizen and Ore has $50,000 per citizen.
By comparison, my state is FL and we have about $1,600 per citizen.
The figures above are only state debt. By the time you add in city and county debt the numbers go way up.
In addition Cal has $85 billion in retirement liability that is unfunded.
And after the exodus from these states slows down the debt will be the same or higher with fewer taxpayers to pay the debt.
If these states are still part of the US and can't pay their debt, who do think they will call on to pay their debt? It will be the Feds and you and I will be bailing them out using our bank accounts.
So I say LET THEM GO and good riddance. The progressives and liberals dug their own hole with this debt. Let them dig themselves out or go belly up. But not at the expense of US taxpayers.
Bye, bye Cal. So long Wash and Ore.

Despite the fact that I dont believe in this to happen, Californias economy ($3.0 trillion) is the largest sub-national economy in the world, dont you think the US would miss something?

And Cal is flirting with bankruptcy. The exodus of tax payers continues all over the Left Coast. Cal's debt is around 70k per capital. Times 40,000,000 people my math says Cal owes 2.8 trillion. And their ability to pay is waning.
My cousin is a retired high school teacher in a state that has a huge unfunded retirement liability.
Walter, where do you think they will go to get 2.8 trillion? To Wash DC. And whose money is Wash DC?
Ours !!!! Yours and mine and my neighbors and Social Security and the Federal Reserve Board.
I say let them go and cut them off.

LA is in the middle of a mass exodus and is rapidly becoming an urban slum.
The famous Gold's gym near the beach which is where stars used to work out is now surrounded by cardboard and homeless.

The contrast between the Uber wealthy and the homeless has never been greater. The mayor of LA has put portable toilets all over the city to keep indigents from defecating in wealthy front lawns. Moving companies are reporting record numbers of people leaving.
The LA of old seems to be drying up before our very eyes. What used to be Rolls Royces and Maseratis is now beat up travel trailers with 10 people living in them.
And every time an LA resident picks up the phone to call a mover the Cal tax base shrinks some more.
Debt was huge before but it will likely be unsustainable after this mass exodus is over.
And, once again, the Democrimers in positions of power have done themselves in. By succumbing to the emotions of liberalism instead of the rationality of conservatism, LA is turning into a slum.
Way to go, Gavin. Way to go.

The number of Seattle residents moving out has absolutely skyrocketed by +1500%. In 2019 there were 363 households leaving during the 2cd quarter. This same period in 2020 it was way over 10,000.
This same pattern is being repeated all over the country in cities run by Democrats. And if the exodus continues there will be a lot fewer Seattlers to pay the sky high taxes. So taxes, as high as they are now, are likely to go up even more.
And remember the state of Washington has over $50,000 debt for citizen already. That will also go up as the debt stays the same but there are fewer citizens.
It makes sense to me to move out of Seattle while you can. And move east, off the Left Coast, and find a nice smaller town with more conservative lesdership.

Paid protestors? Portland is sometimes called the "Whitest City in America". Blacks constitute 6% of the city's population. So why does BLM have enough influence to shut down the central business district?
I think it is money being paid to BLM and Antifa to incite anarchy, rioting, looting, robbery and shooting.
A great deal of the problems in Portland are due to Georgy Porgy Soros and his huge checkbook that he hoarded by cheating people out of savings in Europe.
Get rid of Georgy and I bet most of this anarchy would dry up real quick.

There us a group in Cal called "Yes California" that received the OK to begin a secession petition. They need to get just over 600,000 people to sign, within the next 6 months. This would allow Cal voters to decide for themselves whether they want to be their own country or continue in the US.
California is in debt up to their eyeballs. Their state retirement plan is barely solvent. And per capita state debt is over $70,000 per citizen.
Huge debt is a characteristic of government by the Left. Not only is Cal in serious debt but also Wash and Oregon. And socialist Europe is considered by some to be unsustainable because debt is increasing so rapidly. So it may be rampant spending on credit that brings down left leaning governments.
Personally I hope the petition gets the signatures needed and they vote to secede. If they stay in the US they will require a federal bailout when their debt becomes unsustainable. And it will be part of my tax dollars to bail out these free spending high taxing liberals.

I prefer conservative governing. My state, FL, has $1600 per capita debt. NC had only $900 per capita.
Compare that with Cal at over $70,000 per capita and a dangerously underfunded retirement system.

There are 4 counties in Oregon that held referendums on leaving the state. 2 counties successfully passed this referendum. They want to redraw the boundary with Idaho so that they are Idahoans. This is not an easy process but it illustrates how Fed up people are with these wacko liberals running the show. Idaho is a conservative state and so is rural Oregon. As is typical it is the cities that are ultra liberal.
Personally I think these counties should be allowed to leave and join Idaho. They are sick and tired of liberal wack jobs infringing on their rights which are guaranteed by the constitution. But these libs pay no attention to the constitution. The liberal mantra is MORE GOVERNMENT and LESS PERSONAL FREEDOM and MORE TAXES !!!
